Conversation Partners!  Partnering To Strengthen Our Community

MEET UP TO MEET FRIENDS, PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH & EXCHANGE CULTURE

REGISTER BELOW!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The “Conversation Partners” program links native or near-native English speakers with refugee neighbors who struggle with the language.  It is a chance to practice English skills outside of a classroom, but most importantly it is a chance to share culture, family, and traditions through conversation.  Participants agree to meet at least five times—perhaps once a month over five months, or twice a month for two or three months—in Gannon’s Nash Library or an area coffee shop.  Beginners can use conversation guides provided by the program.  Practice your English and get to know your new neighbors!

The Conversation Partners is supported by the Gannon University Office of Service Learning, The International Institute of Erie, Catholic Charities and the Gannon History Department.

Can't meet at Gannon or a coffee shop?  Let us know if meeting at the International Institute, or, if part of the Go College Program, meeting at Erie High, would be more convenient.
